Century 21 Epic Real Estate

Elizabeth K. Uribe is a board member with The Living Room (TLR), a transitional housing and care center for women and children in Sonoma County who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. In addition to housing, TLR provides counseling, job readiness, group therapy, financial literacy, art therapy, hot showers, veterinary care for their pets, hot meals and more to over 100 women and their children each week. TLR also prepares and distributes more than 1,000 meals a week to those in need in Sonoma County. For more than 12 years, Liz has volunteered hundreds of hours and made large financial contributions. She helped The Living Room raise more than $870,000, obtained permits for tiny homes, ADUs conversion and remodel work at the Center, and oversaw renovations that enabled the organization to expand from housing six women to 34 women and their children, today. Currently, as chair of TLR’s Real Estate Committee, Liz is helping to plan and fund a major renovation of TLR’s Commercial Kitchen.

Due largely to Liz’s efforts, TLR has grown to a multi-building campus that includes a commercial kitchen and meeting space, as well as residential homes. She was instrumental in helping to find the property, identify a REALTOR® to conduct the purchase, and recruit help with painting and cleaning. When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down TLR’s day program, she helped the organization pivot to delivering meals and converted more of the campus to housing. As restrictions eased in 2022, Liz helped to open a reimagined “Life Center” where women may drop in to be connected to housing, counseling, education, services and a nutritious meal. More than 150 women have graduated from TLR’s transitional housing into stable living situations for themselves and their children.

Thanks to Liz Uribe’s hard work and dedication, The Living Room received a $1,000 donation from C.A.R.
