Need to get or renew a California mortgage loan originator license? C.A.R. has partnered with OnlineEd to provide NMLS approved education you need for your mortgage license.

How to Renew your California Mortgage License:

All mortgage licenses in California expire on December 31. You will need to complete 8 hours of NMLS continuing education courses before you can apply for license renewal.

How to Get a Mortgage License in California:

There are two mortgage licensing authorities in California: The Department of Real Estate (DRE) and the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI). Persons seeking a mortgage loan originator license with the DRE must first have a real estate license.

All mortgage loan originators must take a 20 hour NMLS-required pre-license course. This course will prepare you to take the mortgage licensing exam.
